Bellport High School senior athlete Nevaeh Pedraza is one of only 23 track and field athletes to be named to Newsday’s 2025 All-Long Island Girls Track and Field team.

Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

Students can enroll in advanced language, literature and cultural classes. They also have the ability to earn the prestigious New York State Seal of Biliteracy on their diplomas. The seal indicates that a graduate has demonstrated a high proficiency in English and one or more world languages. The seal was first available to the Class of 2024, of which seven members earned it.
